8.EE.7 - Solve linear equations in one variable

 

The content I've added is a good source for someone learning about this topic because it properly shows how a linear equation with only one variable is solved, and in this case, only one step. It also shows how to properly check to make sure that your answer for the variable is correct.

 

Something new I learned about this topic is that when doing an equation like this, x cannot equal 0 if the other 2 numbers are different. I also learned that this is actually considered a linear equation.
